Primary Pleural Hydatid Cyst: Case Report and Literature Review

Introduction: Primary pleural hydatidosis is a rare disease. It defined as hydatid cyst within or dependent of the space that has not been produced by rupture from another location and/or does appear simultaneously preceded cyst, liver lung. Presentation Case: A 26-year-old woman, non-smoker, was taken to emergency room for fever 1 day evolution, without other symptoms. No relevant medical history. Nasopharyngeal swab performed RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 RNA, which negative. The chest radiograph abnormalities. Chest CT showed lobulated lesion in its anterior portion and smooth posterior part, adjacent 5th 6th right vertebral bodies, respecting cortices, 42 mm × 16 mm, did present reinforcement with contrast IV. biopsy scheduled, preoperative analyzes were normal. histology showed, due Echinococcus granulosus. Currently patient asymptomatic no recurrence. Discussion: Most case report individual importance extrapulmonary-intrathoracic analysis 100-year literature we performed. important consider primary differential diagnoses pulmonary cystic disease, especially endemic areas E. granulosus infection, take into account wide clinical variability presentation. Conclusion: Extrathoracic intrapulmonary uncommon, however, pleura most common site, so presence should be evaluated.
